Exhibitor Testimonials

We choose to exhibit in Tent, as we feel it complements 3form’s approach to design; edgy and current, but not over glamorised. It is also a good chance / opportunity to show the architectural and design community that we operate in the same circles of influence.

We enjoyed participating in Tent, as it is a refreshing change from the generic over commercialisation that you get with so many other shows (…we greatly appreciated the lack of pink carpets in the gangways). Tent attracts the core architecture & design audiences we want to meet, and the deconstructed feel to the show suits our market, ethos and approach.

Many projects have come in, which we can directly attribute to architects visiting us at Tent - so we are signing up straight away for 2012 and preparing for the crowds!   Paul Pennington Marshall, UK Sales Manager, 3form Europe

Tent was the perfect platform for our brand during the London Design Festival, associating the Allermuir name alongside some highly talented designers. The show exposed us to an audience who are making a difference within the design industry today. There was a great atmosphere over the whole 4 days and we are looking forward to 2012 already, Robin Bayliss, Sales Director, Allermuir

As a designer, it is absolutely vital to have a prescence in London during design week. Tent provides the important opportunity to strengthen established relationships with existing contacts, as well as making new ones. More people visit every time and I would not miss it in any year.   Showing year-on-year is vital for client confidence in my business - to be returning to talk to visitors every September demonstrates that we are doing well and progressing. I always see it as an unmissable opportunity to establish my business within the industry.

We were set to launch in Asia first and were using Tent to gauge the Western market. As a result of the outstanding reaction to our product at Tent, we are seriously considering launching in the UK ahead of our scheduled Asian launch .

In terms of yielding results, as well as a wealth of confidence boosting compliments, I have: interior designers working for a trendy London-based hotel chain wanting to use my lights in a new hotel, several London-based furniture shops wanting to stock benches and a private commission to build my table, which is currently a prototype. All in all, i'm a happy designer right now!

Tent London, has to be the hardest (oh how my feet ached!!), yet most rewarding four days I have had in the last 24 yrs of being a joiner and furniture maker. Meeting the other designers was so much fun but also quite reassuring to know that we all have the same struggles and small triumphs, and also gives you something to gauge yourself against as to where you are in the greater scheme of things!! Then came the throngs of interior designers, press, retailers, … that was just Thursday!! The whole four days were just a constant parade of people wanting details, asking to borrow for galleries, shows, magazine photo shoots (Big Edna is with Homes and Gardens, as we speak) film and television sets, etc etc. all very daunting but very exciting when you can stand back and take it all in.

I have taken orders on the shelving system that I displayed which will pretty much pay for the stand itself, and the Brucie bonus was a company who have approached me to incorporate my furniture in with their 12 different colours they use. All-in-all a very fruitfull experience, especially in the financial climate we're in at the moment. We will definitely be back next year.

Tent 2011 far exceeded my expectations. The atmosphere was brilliant and I found myself engaging with all the right sorts of clients from architects to interior designers and retailers from whom I gained overwhelming interest as well as support. I am delighted to be creating work for Anthropologie, the Pontis Group and in discussions with another leading design retailer as well as undertaking several private commissions and developing projects with London based architects. Thanks to a variety of bloggers and architecture website WAN, I know also have a strong online presence . I can say that going east to launch my practice was the best decision I've made.

We at Thomas & Vines made our first ever exhibition debut at Tent 2011.  Having no experience before of a such an event from a exhibitor's perspective, we were unsure of what to expect but thankfully the whole Tent experience was totally positive.  We found the atmosphere friendly and relaxed and the range of fellow exhibitors broad, stylish and interesting.  Most importantly we met a huge variety of people ranging from journalists, suppliers, buyers, interior designers, artists and many interested members of the public - potential customers!  We have come away with a long list of contacts, an order from a large store and are now selling our range on notonthehighstreet.com.

Visitor Testimonials

It is always a pleasure to visit Tent, to view a range of up and coming designers and the fully established design companies. The list of talented designers at Tent was endless, it was great to meet so many in person …I left Tent feeling very excited to inform the team all about the gems I’d found.

I really enjoyed the ambiance at Super Brands, London needed something like Super Brands. And a lot of Very Interesting People indeed, not just at the talks.

I like to visit Tent London every year because it's one of the best places to find the newest design talent during the London Design Festival. The combination of surface design, textiles, furniture, lighting and ceramics is exactly what my readers are looking for.   Amelia Gregory, www.ameliasmagazine.com

This year's Design London Festival saw the launch of a new show – piggy-backing on the now well-established Tent exhibition – that's bound to become a staple of the British capital's annual design blow-out. Super Brands London is a coalition of the heavy-hitting: design manufacturers such as Moroso, Quinze & Milan, Acerbis, Bulo and Segis, whose latest products you may have missed if you didn't make it to Milan earlier this year. There's strength in numbers for sure, but the great location – the listed Boiler House at Brick Lane's Old Truman Brewery – and MVDW's impressive exhibition design made it all the more worthwhile. We liked.

The Brands & Designers talk by Jovan Jelovac was my favourite event in the whole festival; really in depth and interesting and very well chaired!

I personally found the set-up of ‘Super Brands London’ a very intimate event. I had more time to actually absorb my surroundings, a chance to learn more about each consumer & design brand exhibiting. I really enjoyed chatting to the exhibitors that I felt ‘Super Brands London’ deserves more than one blog to showcase my fantastic finds.

The launch of the Super Brands London event this year at Tent London signifies how important the Festival has become within the international design industry. With renowned names such as Moroso, Quinze & Milan with Chevrolet and Valcucine taking part, it shows the growing influence of its relatively young host (Tent London) and proves that London's design culture is truly on the world stage.

We could have sold two of our brand new kitchens direct to visitors on the Sunday if we had had a card machine, it was unbelievable the visitors that walked in off Brick Lane during the Festival. Next year we will have a card machine.
